Psychosocial Safety in the Workplace – For Employees – Online Learning

Psychosocial Safety at Work – for workers

Psychosocial hazards such as excessive workloads, bullying, harassment, conflicting instructions and exposure to serious incidents are now managed under ACT work health and safety law in the same way as falls or silica dust. Since November 2023, employers in the ACT have had clear duties to identify and control these risks. Workers have a part to play too: they need to recognise the warning signs, take reasonable care of themselves and their workmates, and know what to do when something isn’t right.

This online course from MBA Training was built for the construction industry and is narrated throughout. It explains what psychosocial hazards look like on site, workers’ rights and responsibilities under the WHS Act, the difference between bullying and reasonable management action, how to step in safely as a bystander, and how to report a concern. It also covers where to get support, including MATES in Construction. The course is based on WorkSafe ACT requirements and the Safe Work Australia Code of Practice, and it ends with a short online assessment and a completion record. It sits alongside our Managing Psychosocial Risks course for supervisors and managers, so the whole site gets the same message. Contact MBA Training on (02) 6175 5900 or training@mba.org.au.

At the conclusion of this course, there will be a 10 question, multiple choice assessment.  Upon successful completion of this, a certificate of attendance will be issued.
