This course provides participants with an ability to identify and understand the dangers of asbestos, an awareness of its possible locations and the procedures followed if presence is detected. This course is delivered and assessed in English.

Up to 70% of the course cost may be refundable to eligible applicants through the ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund. We will apply for this refund on your behalf on successful completion of the course.  

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This course provides participants with an ability to identify and understand the dangers of asbestos, an awareness of its possible locations and the procedures followed if presence is detected.

This course is delivered and assessed in English. Participants are required to understand both written and spoken English to a basic level to complete this course. If you are unable to read and write in the English language the professional services of an accredited translator are required (cost at participants expense).

An eligible person would be those working in or in connection to the ACT building and construction industry, who perform at least 80% of their work being liable to the training levy. PRE-REQUISITES

Minimum 15 years old.


CONTENT

  • Understanding the risks, health hazards and effects of asbestos
  • Identify Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) and their location in a building
  • Manage the correct procedure for the reporting of asbestos

CERTIFICATION

Competent participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for NAT11084001- Identify and report asbestos containing materials and a card on successful completion of this course.


Before you register online you will need to have:

Your Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you do not have one you will need to have either one of the following - Medicare card, birth certificate, driver licence, Australian passport, citizenship document, certificate of registration by descent, ImmiCard or Australian entry visa during this online process.
A Visa or Mastercard.


MBA Group Training utilises a online learning management system and learners are asked to bring a mobile device such as a laptop, tablet or smart phone to complete learning activites and assessment on during training.
