Peer Supporter Mental Health Training (OzHelp)

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Peer supporter training shares methods and techniques to assist with on the ground support to workmates who may be experiencing a tough time. This training aims to increase the amount of support across a workforce by empowering fellow workmates to appropriately and safely connect in a positive manner, as it’s often more comfortable speaking with a peer rather than reaching out through formal channels such as HR or a Manager. The role of a Peer Supporter is ideal for individuals who are passionate about health and wellbeing and have the bandwidth to be able to train in this space and offer Peer Support to work mates. This training can be effective in connecting individuals with support services if external referral pathways are a required outcome of a conversation with a workmate. This training is provided by the OzHelp Foundation.
