BSBWHS419 Contribute to Implementing WHS Monitoring Processes
Self-paced online | Nationally recognised unit | MBA Training RTO 88163
Everyone knows a blower is loud and the afternoon sun is harsh. Few workplaces can say how loud, how harsh, or when it becomes a problem. This self-paced unit gives you the skills to help find out. You’ll plan a monitoring program, consult the people affected, take real measurements with measuring devices, look after the equipment, and compare your results with the relevant exposure standards and guidelines.
You step into the role of WHS Officer at Awesome Landscapes as summer approaches. Crews report ringing ears after blower work, two workers needed first aid for heat last January, and the sun-protection rule only applies “in summer”. You’ll consult the Health and Safety Representative and an occupational hygienist, then write a sampling plan. Next you’ll measure noise, UV and heat with real devices and convert your readings to compare them with the standards. Finally, you’ll tell management whether they need a specialist survey.
