BSBWHS418 Assist with managing WHS compliance of contractors
Self-paced online | Nationally recognised unit | MBA Training RTO 88163
Contractors and casual workers often start on site before anyone has checked their licence, booked their induction or shown them the emergency assembly point. This unit teaches you how to help close those gaps: identify what each contractor needs before they start, support their induction, check their compliance on site, and deal with non-compliance properly and fairly.
You’ll work as the WHS Officer at Awesome Landscapes, a simulated ACT landscaping business, managing the compliance of two workers who provide very different services: an asphalt paver operator and a site property custodian. Both started before they were inducted, and both have been hurt. You’ll check their files against the contracts and the ACT WHS laws, join site inspections, and rate and report what you find. You’ll then work with the workers and their supervisors to agree a fix, escalate what is outside your role, and help investigate both incidents.
