BSBWHS416 Contribute to Workplace Incident Response
Self-paced online | Nationally recognised unit | MBA Training RTO 88163
When someone is hurt on site, the first hour matters, and so does what happens afterwards. This self-paced unit gives you the skills to help your business respond to a workplace incident: support the people involved, report it correctly, find out why it happened, and make sure it doesn’t happen again. You’ll work to the ACT’s current incident notification rules, including the changes introduced in November 2025.
You step into the role of WHS Officer at Awesome Landscapes and respond to two incidents. In the first, a paving machine slides down a wet bank and its operator is taken to hospital. In the second, a scaffold gives way under a landscaper and her harness catches her mid-fall. For each one you’ll complete the incident report, decide whether WorkSafe ACT must be notified, gather statements and records, and trace the causes back to the system rather than the person. You’ll then get your recommendations approved and put them in place. Finally, you’ll present the changes to the site supervisor and the depot.
