BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS Risk Management
Self-paced online | Nationally recognised unit | MBA Training RTO 88163

Every site has hazards. The difference is whether someone finds them before they hurt someone. This self-paced unit gives you the skills to identify workplace hazards, assess the risk they pose, choose controls using the hierarchy of control, and plan how to check those controls keep working.

You step into the role of WHS Officer at Awesome Landscapes, where the Risk Register hasn’t been updated in months. You’ll walk the depot, where forklifts and pedestrians share a crossing and near misses aren’t being reported, and the office, where a hidden hazard has been sitting in plain sight for weeks. For each hazard, you’ll research the requirements, rate the risk, put interim and long-term controls in place within real budget limits, and then present your plans to management for sign-off.

How it works

  • Study online at your own pace through a learner guide, presentations and interactive modules
  • Complete an online knowledge quiz, marked instantly
  • Complete the learner assessment workbook using the Awesome Landscapes simulated workplace, then upload it for marking
  • Present your plans to your trainer by video call
  • Get support from an experienced MBA Training trainer by phone or email

Who it’s for
Site supervisors, leading hands, Health and Safety Representatives, and anyone who needs to understand and apply WHS law in the workplace, particularly in building and construction.

What you’ll receive
A Statement of Attainment for BSBWHS412 when you’re assessed as competent. The unit counts toward the Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419).
