The Training Fund Authority (TFA) supplies a rebate for course participants who are working in, or in connection with, a company in the building and construction industry in the ACT who is performing work liable for the payment of the Training Levy. Learn how to assist an adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis is resolved.
The Mental Health First Aid course equips adults with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise, understand and respond to a friend, family member, co-worker or another adult experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis. Participants will learn how to assist an adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis is resolved.
The course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals. It provides an overview of mental illnesses, risk factors, prevalence, and impact before taking a much closer look at the following mental health problems:
A Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) assessment must be completed prior to training.
This is a non-accredited training course, participants will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance upon successful completion of the course.
