Introduction to Manual Handling

In the context of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act, manual handling encompasses tasks involving lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, or moving loads, and the Act requires employers to manage the risks associated with hazardous manual handling to ensure worker safety.


PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The aim of this training course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify potential hazards, understand the associated risks and implement control measures to minimise their risks when carrying out manual handling tasks within the workplace.

  • Legislative requirement to manage hazardous manual tasks
  • Identify potential hazardous manual tasks which are performed in the workplace
  • Assess risk associated with hazardous manual tasks identified
  • Make recommendations to reduce the risk of injuries from hazardous manual tasks
  • Reviewing controls for hazardous manual tasks
  • Lifting Loads

REQUIREMENTS

A Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) assessment must be completed prior to training.


CERTIFICATION

This is a non-accredited training course, participants will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance upon successful completion of the course.
