This Nationally Accredited course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies, and to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This course provides the skills and knowledge to recognise emergencies and provide immediate and effective first aid treatment to any person suffering a sudden illness or injury.

The CPR (HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) component of this course is valid for 12 months and the HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid qualification expires after three (3) years.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Participants must be a minimum of 15 years of age
A Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment must be completed prior to training
Physical ability to perform two-minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor – MANDATORY
Ability to complete online pre-course work


CONTENT

  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council
  • Recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council
  • Provide first aid response to a casualty
