CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)

Construction workers require a General Construction Induction Card (White Card) when working on a construction site. This course prepares participants for the construction site through understanding of their WHS responsibilities and the skills to identify hazards. This course is delivered and assessed in English.

Up to 70% of the course cost may be refundable to eligible applicants through the ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund. We will apply for this refund on your behalf on successful completion of the course. This does not apply to NSW students.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This course prepares participants for the construction site through understanding of their WHS responsibilities and the skills to identify hazards.

This course is delivered and assessed in English. Participants are required to understand both written and spoken English to a basic level to complete this course.

If you are unable to read and write in the English language, the professional services of an accredited translator are required (cost at participants expense). You are required to attend an approved non-English speaking training date. These dates are separate to normal training dates and are dictated by MBA Group Training.

If you are a high school student and looking at undertaking both Asbestos Awareness and White Card training, please contact us for our student rate. Please do this before you enrol in either course as we will not be able to issue a refund after payment is made. You will need to complete the school student PDF enrolment form.

Minimum 15 years old


CONTENT

The course will provide participants with the content covering:

  • The law, employers, employees
  • WHS Communication and reporting processes
  • Emergency and incident response procedures
  • Hazards and risks

CERTIFICATION

Competent participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.

MBA Group Training do not issue the card.

For ACT attendees: you only have 60 days from the issue date on your certificate to apply for your card. You will need to apply for your card through Access Canberra. The application fee is $42.00.

For NSW attendees: STO will apply on your behalf for the card through Safe Work NSW.


Before you register online you will need to have:
  • Your Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you do not have one you will need to have either one of the following - Medicare card, birth certificate, driver licence, Australian passport, citizenship document, certificate of registration by descent, ImmiCard or Australian entry visa during this online process.
  • A Visa or Mastercard.
