CPCCLHS3002 – Licence to operate a materials hoist

This Nationally Accredited 2-day course course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to operate a materials hoist, that is, a hoist consisting of a car, bucket or platform cantilevered from and travelling up and down the external face of the support of a structure, which is used for hoisting goods and materials but not persons.


PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This course is specifically designed for Materials Hoist operators. The course does not allow operating personnel hoists. At the end of this course, participants will be able to plan their work and check the equipment as well as being able to apply a working knowledge of the WHS and regulatory requirements in accordance with regulatory standards, as well as the ability to apply for a High Risk Work Licence.

This course is for students who reside in the ACT, or can satisfy the ACT regulator that circumstances exist that justify a residential waver for issuing a HRWL


COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Participants must provide 100 points of identification and be 18 years of age or over
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel capped safety footwear and high-visibility clothing is required during this course
A Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment must be completed prior to training. English skills sufficient to understand both written and verbal instruction as well as basic numeracy skills  is required for this course

CERTIFICATION AND LICENCE APPLICATION

Participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion of the course.

Successful participants are required to apply for a High Risk Work Licence with the regulatory body in the State/Territory they complete training in. Applications must be made within 60 days from the issue date of the Statement of Attainment.
