CPCCLDG3001 – Licence to perform dogging

This Nationally Accredited 5-day course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to plan, prepare and perform dogging work


PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Dogging consists of the application of slinging techniques to move a load, including the selection and inspection of lifting gear, and the directing of a plant operator in the movement of a load when the load is out of sight of the operator. Students will gain basic skills associated with the slinging and movement of loads with cranes as well as the ability to safely direct and position loads using various communication techniques.


COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Participants must provide 100 points of identification and be 18 years of age or over
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel capped safety footwear and high-visibility clothing is required during this course
A Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment must be completed prior to training. English skills sufficient to understand both written and verbal instruction as well as basic math skills to caluclate volume and apply simple sling formulae is required for this course

CERTIFICATION AND LICENCE APPLICATION

Participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion of the course.

Successful participants are required to apply for a High Risk Work Licence with the regulatory body in the State/Territory they complete training in. Applications must be made within 60 days from the issue date of the Statement of Attainment.
