11084NAT – Course in Asbestos Awareness

Successful completion of this course will allow participants to meet WorkSafe ACT requirements specified in section 19 (03) (f) of the ACT Work Health & Safety Act 2011 in addition to meeting the WorkSafe ACT Guidance note for “Workers who may encounter asbestos in their work must be trained”.

This course is delivered and assessed in English. Participants are required to understand both written and spoken English to a basic level to complete this course. If you are unable to read and write in the English language the professional services of an accredited translator are required (cost at participants expense).

• Understanding the risks, health hazards and effects of asbestos
• Identify Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) and their location in a building
• Manage the correct procedure for the reporting of asbestos

Participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment and a Card (if requested) upon successful completion of the course.
