This year Master Builders Australia is running the Women Building Australia program for the second year. With females only comprising 11% of the construction sector, MBA Australia is taking proactive steps to encourage greater female presence in the industry.
The Women Building Australia program provides helpful information and valuable opportunities to women in the building and construction industry, and women looking to enter the sector.
The Women Building Australia Program helps through:
- Career Expos: Presence at career expos to discuss the building and construction industry opportunities open to females.
- National Mentoring Program: This program provides women with up to five years of industry experience, with a mentor with industry relevant knowledge.
- Business Resilience and Coaching Program: This program provides valuable workshops and information sessions to female operators of small to medium businesses in the building and construction industry. These sessions provide practical advice to women in the sector, from industry experts.
- Female Led Business Register: This register shows a list of businesses owned and run by women, which simplifies the process of supporting women in the industry.
- Harassment and Discrimination Support Line: The program also provides a harassment and discrimination support line, which supplies non-legal advice on how to escalate harassment matters. The helpline number is 1300 889 156.
The Women Building Australia is currently recruiting mentees for the 2021 program.
To join as a mentee, you must
