Safety data snapshot – October 2025

Posted

WorkSafe ACT has released its latest Safety Data Snapshot for October, and the construction industry again remains significantly overrepresented in safety regulatory activities.

Of the 207 workplace visits conducted during the month, 88 were to construction sites, which is just over 42%. Inspectors issued 114 improvement notices, with 50 relating to construction. They also issued 38 prohibition notices, and 32 of these were issued on construction sites.

What does this mean?
The data shows that construction continues to receive focused attention from safety regulators. The number of improvement and prohibition notices suggests there are opportunities to further strengthen safety practices across the sector, and that WorkSafe ACT is closely monitoring compliance in the industry.

A quick reminder
Builders and contractors are encouraged to keep site inductions, documentation, supervision, and hazard controls current and compliant. Regular internal checks and timely rectification of issues help support safe workplaces and reduce the risk of enforcement action. Ensure all staff are appropriately trained.
