Reminder: ABCC Abolished from 6 February 2023 – Functions have Transferred to Fair Work Ombudsman

A reminder that the Australian Building and Construction Commission (‘ABCC’) is formally abolished from 6 February 2023. All ongoing legal matters which were before the ABCC has now transferred to the Fair Work Ombudsman

If you have a current matter that was being investigated by the ABCC and have not been contacted by the Fair Work Ombudsman please contact the Fair Work Ombudsman immediately.

You will now need to contact the Fair Work Ombudsman in relation to any industrial relations matter, the ABCC is no longer available.

The Fair Work Ombudsman’s website contains tools and information about:

• Pay and entitlements including leave, public holidays, hours of work, breaks and rosters, allowances, penalty rates and other payments
• The role of unions
• Right of entry and union membership
• Industrial action
• Protections at work including protection from discrimination
• Ending employment
• Independent contractors
