Mr Fluffy Legacy Place of Reflection – YourSay Consultation: Listening Report

Since 2014, Master Builders ACT has provided industry comment to the ACT Government on the Mr Fluffy project, through our participation on the Community Expert Reference Group (CERG).
A key recommendation put forward by impacted community members who participated in the Legacy Project consultation in 2019 and the CERG was to establish a Place of Reflection.
The place of reflection will take the form of a forest shelter at the National Arboretum Canberra. The forest shelter provides a physical space where people will have an opportunity, through a digital platform, to reflect and engage with educative information on the scale and significant impact loose fill asbestos insulation has had on the Canberra community.
A consultation survey was held through the YourSay website from 21 November 2022 through to 9 February 2023, seeking community views on proposed key educative themes to be included as part of the digital platform linked to the place of reflection.
A Listening Report outlining what the ACCT Government heard from the community, is now available on the YourSay website.
The information gathered through the survey will inform the place of reflection and the development of digital content to educate, raise awareness, and acknowledge the experiences of those impacted by the ‘Mr Fluffy’ legacy.
