In May this year, a labour hire licence scheme was introduced in the ACT – all labour hire providers have until 27 November 2021 to lodge and finalise their licence application.
Do I need a licence? Most construction companies are unlikely to need a licence. If your business providers ONLY a worker to another person (whether individual or a business), to do work, then you will need a labour hire licence.
If you engage in labour hire after 27 November 2021 and you are unlicensed, or you use an unlicensed labour hire company, you may face fines.
If you are unsure of your obligations and whether your situation constitutes labour hire, please contact our Member Services Team on 6175 5900 or via firstname.lastname@example.org.
