The Fair Work Commission has now handed down its decision regarding the National Training Wage under the Joinery and Building Trades Award 2010 [MA000029].
Master Builders Australia provided submissions to the Fair Work Commission as a part of the Four Yearly Review of the Award that the National Training Wage Schedule, as provided in the Miscellaneous Award 2010 should be adopted. This position was opposed by the Unions. This decision provides that the award-specific Schedule would be maintained, however, in line with further submissions made by Master Builders Australia regarding the training packages to be included, the award-specific Schedule would remain and would include those training packages submitted.
These changes should be applied to an eligible employee’s pay, from the first full pay period on or after 17 September 2020.
