Have your Say on Proposed Changes to Unlicensed Asbestos Removal (10m2 Rule)

Posted

Master Builders is seeking your assistance in completing a short survey on unlicensed asbestos removal (known as the 10m2 Rule), conducted by the Asbestos Safety Eradication Agency (‘ASEA’).

ASEA is the Australian government agency which coordinates actions across the country to improve asbestos awareness and systems for the effective and safe management, removal and disposal of asbestos.

The survey, which has been developed in consultation with Master Builders, seeks to understand the practical application of the ability to remove up to 10m2 of bonded (i.e. non-friable) asbestos containing materials without an asbestos licence in most states of Australia.

It is important for ASEA to hear your experience on this topic as the survey results will contribute to improving asbestos-related information, guidance and support currently available to our industry, as well as highlighting any consequences if the 10m2 Rule were to be removed.

Master Builders strongly encourages your participation in this survey to represent our industry’s experience and thoughts. The survey will only take about 5 minutes of your time and is both confidential and anonymous.
