Do You Need To Performance Manage One of Your Employees?

Posted
health and safety committee training

Do you have an employee who is not performing?  Has there been an incident at work that needs to be addressed? Have you spoken to an employee about the same thing over and over? Have you issued a warning to an employee about their behaviour?

If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to either of these questions – performance management of your employee is likely to be required.  Substandard performance by one (or more) employees can have impacts on your business, internally and externally, and should be dealt with in a reasonable manner.

Performance management is best used for situations to address poor performance of an employee. Where you make all reasonable attempts to manage the performance of an employee, but the behaviour continues, this might aid in ensuring that the termination of employment was fair, just and reasonable.
