The ACT Government opened consultations on the Missing Middle Housing reforms in May 2025. MASTER BUILDERS ACT SUBMISSION ON THE PAYROLL TAX AMENDMENT BILL 2025

In this letter to the Legislative Assembly, MBA ACT opposed the Payroll Tax Amendment Bill 2025, highlighting that higher rates, including an 8.75% surcharge for large employers, could make the ACT the most expensive jurisdiction, risk local jobs and businesses, and urging growth-friendly alternatives like phased surcharges or higher thresholds.
