ACT 2021-22 Budget: Infrastructure Spending

The 2021-22 ACT budget contains a headline expenditure on infrastructure and capital works of $5 billion over five years. If delivered this would represent a 28 per cent increase from the previous five years to 2020-21.

The infrastructure program has four main components:

• $776 million over five years on new capital works (2021-22: $219.7m; 2022-23: $249m).
• $404 million over five years on the Better Infrastructure Fund.
• $2.3 billion over five years works in progress for projects that commenced prior to 2021-22.
• $1.5 billion over five years for future significant capital works projects.
