The high income threshold will increase on 1 July 2025 from $175,000.00 to $183,100.00. This threshold is important as an employees whose earnings are more than the high income threshold, and are not award or agreement covered, will not be able to pursue unfair dismissal claims against an employer.
The Fair Work Commission has similarly increased the maximum amount of compensation which can be awarded for unfair dismissal claims lodged after 1 July 2025 from $87,500.00 to $91,550.00.
