In response to the worksite fatality that occurred earlier this week, WorkSafe ACT have issued a Working at Heights Safety Alert. We encourage all our members to review their working at heights systems, and their WHS obligations. All businesses, from small residential builders and trade subcontractors through to large commercial contractors, have responsibilities to ensure the health and safety of their workers, contractors and visitors on site (including psychological health and well-being).
MBA ACT offers several training courses for Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Workplace Impairment, Mental Health Awareness and more. For further information, click here, or contact our Short Course Team on 02 6175 5900. MBA ACT can tailor training to your business (minimum numbers required).
We are also holding our first WHS Member Workshop of 2020 on Wednesday, 19 February. This workshop will provide an overview of the WHS legislation, regulations and ACT codes of practice to assist PCBU’s in meeting their obligations.
