Members are reminded that under the NCC Housing Provisions, waterstops to unenclosed showers must be installed a minimum horizontal distance of 1500 mm from the shower rose.
Additionally, under AS 3740:2021, where a shower area is within 200mm of a bathroom doorway, the shower must be enclosed, with additional water containment measures, including a vertical waterstop where the shower screen meets the wall.
Members should ensure these requirements are considered during bathroom set-out and before waterproofing commences.
