Reminder: Increases to Penalties under the WHS laws are in Effect now

Members are reminded of the significant increases in maximum monetary penalties under the Work Health and Safety legislation, which came into effect on 19 August 2024. A new Schedule 4 has been inserted in the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (ACT) setting out the new penalty amounts.

MBA encourages members to ensure their compliance with their work health and safety responsibilities set out in the WHS Act and the Regulation to provide a safe workplace for your workers and to avoid those significant penalties.
