Sexual and Gender-based Harassment Code of Practice is approved with effective date of 11 November 2024

Posted

ACT Government has recently approved the new Sexual and Gender-based Harassment Code of Practice under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011. The new Code provides practical guidance to assist persons conducting business or undertakings (PCBUs) in meeting their work health and safety duties and obligations on how to manage risks arising from sexual and general-based harassment at workplaces. This new Code will take effect on 11 November 2024.

The Government also decided to revoke the Preventing and Responding to Bullying Code of Practice noting that the Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work Code of Practice provides up-to-date and improved guidance for PCBUs to manage the associated risks. This revocation will take effect on 11 November 2024.
