M.A.T.E Program

The Master Builders MATE (Mentoring Apprentices Towards Excellence) Program is a digital 3-month program funded by the Future Skills Future Jobs Grant, designed to connect apprentices with a MATE. A MATE will support their mentee (apprentice) with developing skills in:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Relationship Management
  • Communication, including social media
  • Career development

The outcome of this program is to provide a supportive network of people and create a MATE for life.

Benefits of a having MATE (Mentor)

A MATE is someone that can help guide and teach new things, problem solve, set career goals and be a great sounding board for any discussion topic.
This program will provide apprentices an opportunity to focus on their work, health and relationships.

Support available for Mentors
  • Training and Coaching 2 x 3 hour online live training sessions (4 – 7 pm, 15 and 22 March 2022)
  • Receive a copy of ‘The Power of Mentorship’ book
  • Support and Coaching throughout program outcome for mentors
  • PD Points – Certificate of participation

The key modules within the Mentor training program focus on the following elements:

  1. Mentoring history, theory, and principles
  2. Mentoring Skills and their application in the modern workplaces
  3. Mentoring in Action (Building Resilience)
  4. Communication Skills
